Watch out for strainer at bottom of Tombstone!

Had a nice kayak run on Middle and Lower Haw on Sunday.  Flow was 2400.  I am intermediate paddler and took my daughter and her boyfriend (novices) for a good day on the Haw.  We had a good time and the river was fine for my novice daughter and boyfriend until we finished Gabe's Bend and went into Tombstone to finish out the run.  At the second to last rapids before hitting Jordan Lake flat water there is a 8-10 inch thick tree trunk across 2/3 of the river where the main flow goes.  The trunk strainer caught both my novice paddlers.  I'll scout better next time.  It's not too difficult for an intermediate paddler to avoid but could catch someone by surprise if they have trouble with the rapid abobe.

If anybody has a saw and can remove the tree trunk, it would improve safety in this final part of the Lower Haw run.  I can't get back to do it myself.

Thanks!
