It’s a sad day when all three rivers we did are not listed among the selections in the trip report drop down menu!!!!   GRRRRR!!!!

For the 3 day weekend we had about 20 paddlers take part.  Thurs nite the temps were about 24 degrees and Fri didn’t get above freezing until around noon.  But 7 brave boaters paddled Laurel Creek in Damascus VA at 1600 cfs, a moderately high level.  Dinner at a local Mexican restaurant recharged all everyone’s batteries.   Saturday, was a little warmer and 17 paddlers made the trek up to the Puckett’s Hole section of the Clinch River near Lebanon VA.  Level was about 2000 cfs with lots of good surfing waves and ledges.  The day was beautiful with the redbuds blooming, clear skies, and great water quality.  9 miles of cliffs, and old stone walls, and mussel shells on the rocks!  On Sunday we went to an old favorite, the Toe Gorge.  The gauges were around 200 on the South Toe at Celo and around 2800 on the Noli.  This changed the river from a technical playground to a more boisterous run with many more routes opened up.  All 13 of us had a blast and Andrea and Ming and Keith gave the playhole a work out.  Thanks to everyone who attended for making it a great weekend with friends!!
