Really great day on the Haw with new friends (Kevin), old friends (Rick and Joe) and really old friends (Steve was in Triad River Runners and helped me learn how to paddle back in 2002!).

For some the Haw my be just another ho hum day, when it rained and we couldn't get away to the mountains. For me, it is a great treat. It means that I got an extra unplanned paddling day. To make a Haw trip work for me takes:

1) Enough rain to make it last a few days

2) A paddling pass from my family

3) Being off work

So to get all these planets in line often takes quite a bit of luck for me. And the Haw is a great way to spend the day, getting back on some class II rapids, seeing some wood ducks, a deer, blue herons.

Thanks to everyone for coming out.
