Nice day on the water among CCC friends and we may have even seen the birth of another addict to the sport.

We had 1 novice, couple intermediates, and some advanced paddlers along with a couple instructors and an instructor educator.  Hmm, great opportunity for some newer paddlers.  Decent weather and good conditions for a better than average wave shape for surfing (pool level around 19.3' with flow of 2600cfs).

Since we ditched our loquacious leader (JMB), we were able to enjoy some good surf sessions w/o that constant droning sound in the background.  Kudos to Cody for tackling the Dumpster line yet again.  After some instruction from David B, Doug S, and Larry A we watched and waited (errr….and waited) as Clarke studied the rapid like a seasoned professional before making his move to descend into the flow of yet another outdoor addiction. Oh and Clarke mainlined the rapid twice to be certain he is hooked.  Roger was pleased with his latest whitewater discovery as he continues his tectonic shift eastward from Asheville to Greenville, NC (via Chapel Hill) in search of better whitewater 10,000 years from now.

For those who are unaware Weldon runs frequently on weekends June 15 – October 31 and the last 6-8 weeks of the season frequently runs several weekdays as well.  There are also 4 guaranteed release weekends including Independence day and Labor day.
