Catawba River – Fort Mill to River Park

So after posting this with only a week notice, during WOR, it is not surprise that this turned into a 1 boat recon paddle.
Make sure to check the Duke Energy release time (https://lakes.duke-energy.com). At 9:15am the horn sounded, and within minutes you could see the river level rise.
For the most part the river is deep, but some parts get shallow quickly.
It may be that staying right as you go thru the rocks when you can see the I-77 bridge is the way to go. If you stay left may you pick a better line than I did.
Reached the Pumphouse at 11am. The porta potty is to the left, then turn right at the 4 way. This location gets very busy later in the day.
Keep an eye out for the take out at River Park. It is on the right tucked behind trees. Go slightly past, then turn like you are going up a creek, and it is on the right.
Wear sunscreen! The wide river does not offer much shade.
