Event Type

We hope that you have had a lovely year so far. Here in the Nantahala
Gorge, ERA is gearing up for the 20th annual Nantahala Open, on April 20th.

The Nantahala Open is a community event for the boaters in WNC and beyond.
ERA hosts a river event, with prizes given out to notable Nantahala Falls
runs. Afterwards, ERA hosts an afterparty at the ERA shop where there ise live
music, an awards show, and a raffle benefiting Need More Outdoors.

Need More Outdoors is Juliet's nonprofit that she created in memory of
Maria Noakes. Need More works to make outdoor activities available to local
youth through scholarships and gear libraries. This event is incredibly
important for building up the funds for summertime scholarships.

We would love for as many of the Members of the CCC to come out to this
event. Whether folks would like to attend both the river and land portions,
or just one or the other, we would be glad to host you.

All participants in any Carolina Canoe Club (CCC) trip do so as common adventurers. The CCC or its individual members may coordinate paddling trips but no one is considered leader of a trip. As common adventurers, all participants take the responsibility for making their own decisions including, but not limited to, whether it is safe for them to participate on any particular water body, what equipment they need and use, the routes they may choose to paddle, whether their skill levels and abilities are adequate for the activity or whether climate and water conditions are appropriate for their participation. Participants are exclusively responsible for their own safety.

Individual coordinators for all CCC activities set requirements per their sole discretion. The CCC does not necessarily endorse or approve requirements set by coordinators.
