Doing things a little different this year for several reasons. The location is planned to be Boiling Hole area. Chris Mattox will do a talk about cold weather preparedness and paddling and be sure to bring your dry suit to test your gaskets before winter paddling starts. Sure you can do that in your tub but it’ll be more fun to do it with a bunch of your paddling friends! Halloween attire encouraged! Maybe we can take a group pic with everyone before ‘burping’?!? If you don’t have a dry suit I’m sure someone will let you try one for a bit so you can see what they’re like. Maybe that will help you decide which brand or style you like best. Other activities will be rope throwing, swimming in your dry suit and running Boiling Hole. Riverside snacks will follow all the activities. And I’m sure the park rangers would appreciate it if we did a quick trash pick up in the area.
All participants in any Carolina Canoe Club (CCC) trip do so as common adventurers. The CCC or its individual members may coordinate paddling trips but no one is considered leader of a trip. As common adventurers, all participants take the responsibility for making their own decisions including, but not limited to, whether it is safe for them to participate on any particular water body, what equipment they need and use, the routes they may choose to paddle, whether their skill levels and abilities are adequate for the activity or whether climate and water conditions are appropriate for their participation. Participants are exclusively responsible for their own safety.
Individual coordinators for all CCC activities set requirements per their sole discretion. The CCC does not necessarily endorse or approve requirements set by coordinators.
