The Tuckasegee River between Dillsboro and Barker’s Creek is a family-friendly section with warm water, reliable summer flows, and beginner rapids. Expect Class II currents, fun eddies to catch, and opportunities to practice ferrying, peel-outs, and bracing.
It’s a great section for kids to build confidence and have fun in a safe setting.
