DESCRIPTION:American Whitewater and our affiliate club partners negotiated 
 10 annual releases on the Class Tallulah Gorge and public access to the ri
 ver\, which began in 1997. Saturday releases are at 500cfs\, and Sunday re
 leases are at 700cfs. The releases occur on the first two weekends in Apri
 l\, and the first three weekends in November\, and have become a treasured
  recreational opportunity. Regional paddling clubs organize dozens of volu
 nteers each year to make the releases possible.
