 nate – Haw River at Lunchstop Rapid\n\nDate: April 26th and 27th\, 0900-

 CC Members only. ACA Membership or $10 ACA Event Fee Required. (CCC Member
 ship is different than ACA Membership and they are not equivalent for the

 ourse.\n\nThis course is designed as a short program emphasizing safety\, 
 enjoyment\, and skill development. The skills and knowledge gained can set
  the stage for a lifetime of exploration\, adventures\, a healthy lifestyl
 e\, appreciation of water and the natural world\, lasting memories with fa
 mily and friends\, and a rewarding experience for all.\n\nThis L4 course i
 s designed to teach recognition and avoidance of common river hazards\, ex
 ecution of self-rescue techniques\, and simple rescues for paddlers in dis
 tress. Emphasis is placed both on personal safety and simple\, commonly us
 ed skills. Fundamental and more advanced techniques for dealing with hazar
 ds that carry greater risks for both victim and rescuer\, such as strainer
 s\, rescue vest applications\, entrapments\, and pins also are practiced. 
 Scenarios will provide an opportunity for participants to practice their s
 kills both individually and within a team/group context.\n\nNote: Day one 
 covers the L3 River Safety Rescue skills. Day two covers the L4 Swiftwater
  Rescue skills. There will be an opportunity for people to sign up only fo
 r day one or day two in separate clinic announcements.\n\nThis course is c
 onducted utilizing with ACA Paddlesports certified instructors and ACA Pad
 dlesports curriculum
