 n\nThis course is designed as a short program emphasizing safety\, enjoyme
 nt\, and skill development. The skills and knowledge gained can set the st
 age for a lifetime of exploration\, adventures\, a healthy lifestyle\, app
 reciation of water and the natural world\, lasting memories with family an
 d friends\, and a rewarding experience for all.\n\nThis L4 course is desig
 ned to teach recognition and avoidance of common river hazards\, execution
  of self-rescue techniques\, and simple rescues for paddlers in distress. 
 Emphasis is placed both on personal safety and simple\, commonly used skil
 ls. Fundamental and more advanced techniques for dealing with hazards that
  carry greater risks for both victim and rescuer\, such as strainers\, res
 cue vest applications\, entrapments\, and pins also are practiced. Scenari
 os will provide an opportunity for participants to practice their skills b
 oth individually and within a team/group context.\n\nNote: Day one covers 
 the L3 River Safety Rescue skills. Day two covers the L4 Swiftwater Rescue
  skills. There will be an opportunity for people to sign up only for day o
 ne or day two in separate clinic announcements.\n\nThis course is conducte
 d utilizing with ACA Paddlesports certified instructors and ACA Paddlespor
 ts curriculum
