 \nThis course is designed as a short program emphasizing safety\, enjoymen
 t\, and skill development. The skills and knowledge gained can set the sta
 ge for a lifetime of exploration\, adventures\, a healthy lifestyle\, appr
 eciation of water and the natural world\, lasting memories with family and
  friends\, and a rewarding experience for all.\n\nThis L4 course is design
 ed to teach recognition and avoidance of common river hazards\, execution 
 of self-rescue techniques\, and simple rescues for paddlers in distress. E
 mphasis is placed both on personal safety and simple\, commonly used skill
 s. Fundamental and more advanced techniques for dealing with hazards that 
 carry greater risks for both victim and rescuer\, such as strainers\, resc
 ue vest applications\, entrapments\, and pins also are practiced. Scenario
 s will provide an opportunity for participants to practice their skills bo
 th individually and within a team/group context.\n\nNote: Day one covers t
 he L3 River Safety Rescue skills. Day two covers the L4 Swiftwater Rescue 
 skills. There will be an opportunity for people to sign up only for day on
 e or day two in separate clinic announcements.\n\nThis course is conducted
  utilizing with ACA Paddlesports certified instructors and ACA Paddlesport
 s curriculum
