 0 ACA Event Fee Required. (CCC Membership is different than ACA Membership

 ails on what you can expect in this course.\n\nThis course is designed as 
 a short program emphasizing safety\, enjoyment\, and skill development. Th
 e skills and knowledge gained can set the stage for a lifetime of explorat
 ion\, adventures\, a healthy lifestyle\, appreciation of water and the nat
 ural world\, lasting memories with family and friends\, and a rewarding ex
 perience for all.\n\nThis L4 course is designed to teach recognition and a
 voidance of common river hazards\, execution of self-rescue techniques\, a
 nd simple rescues for paddlers in distress. Emphasis is placed both on per
 sonal safety and simple\, commonly used skills. Fundamental and more advan
 ced techniques for dealing with hazards that carry greater risks for both 
 victim and rescuer\, such as strainers\, rescue vest applications\, entrap
 ments\, and pins also are practiced. Scenarios will provide an opportunity
  for participants to practice their skills both individually and within a 
 team/group context.\n\nNote: Day one covers the L3 River Safety Rescue ski
 lls. Day two covers the L4 Swiftwater Rescue skills. There will be an oppo
 rtunity for people to sign up only for day one or day two in separate clin
 ic announcements.\n\nThis course is conducted utilizing with ACA Paddlespo
 rts certified instructors and ACA Paddlesports curriculum
