 nly. ACA Membership or $10 ACA Event Fee Required. (CCC Membership is diff
 erent than ACA Membership and they are not equivalent for the insurance).

 is course is designed as a short program emphasizing safety\, enjoyment\, 
 and skill development. The skills and knowledge gained can set the stage f
 or a lifetime of exploration\, adventures\, a healthy lifestyle\, apprecia
 tion of water and the natural world\, lasting memories with family and fri
 ends\, and a rewarding experience for all.\n\nThis L4 course is designed t
 o teach recognition and avoidance of common river hazards\, execution of s
 elf-rescue techniques\, and simple rescues for paddlers in distress. Empha
 sis is placed both on personal safety and simple\, commonly used skills. F
 undamental and more advanced techniques for dealing with hazards that carr
 y greater risks for both victim and rescuer\, such as strainers\, rescue v
 est applications\, entrapments\, and pins also are practiced. Scenarios wi
 ll provide an opportunity for participants to practice their skills both i
 ndividually and within a team/group context.\n\nNote: This is being held i
 n conjunction with the full L4 Swiftwater Rescue class. Day one covers the
  L3 River Safety Rescue skills. Day two covers the L4 Swiftwater Rescue sk
 ills.\n\nThis course is conducted utilizing with ACA Paddlesports certifie
 d instructors and ACA Paddlesports curriculum
