 4\, or any of William Holman’s L3 classes since 2023.\n\nLocation: Prima
 ry – Cape Fear at Erwin\, Alternate – Haw River at Lunchstop Rapid\n\n

 : $10 ($20 for non ACA Members)/ Registration will open on March 15th\n\nO
 pen to CCC Members only. ACA Membership or $10 ACA Event Fee Required. (CC
 C Membership is different than ACA Membership and they are not equivalent

 ect in this course.\n\nThis course is designed as a short program emphasiz
 ing safety\, enjoyment\, and skill development. The skills and knowledge g
 ained can set the stage for a lifetime of exploration\, adventures\, a hea
 lthy lifestyle\, appreciation of water and the natural world\, lasting mem
 ories with family and friends\, and a rewarding experience for all.\n\nThi
 s L4 course is designed to teach recognition and avoidance of common river
  hazards\, execution of self-rescue techniques\, and simple rescues for pa
 ddlers in distress. Emphasis is placed both on personal safety and simple\
 , commonly used skills. Fundamental and more advanced techniques for deali
 ng with hazards that carry greater risks for both victim and rescuer\, suc
 h as strainers\, rescue vest applications\, entrapments\, and pins also ar
 e practiced. Scenarios will provide an opportunity for participants to pra
 ctice their skills both individually and within a team/group context.\n\nN
 ote: This is being held in conjunction with the full L4 Swiftwater Rescue 
 class. Day one covers the L3 River Safety Rescue skills. Day two covers th
 e L4 Swiftwater Rescue skills.\n\nThis course is conducted utilizing with 
 ACA Paddlesports certified instructors and ACA Paddlesports curriculum
