SUMMARY:Grief and Gratitude Sunset Paddle
DESCRIPTION:Come slow down on the water with us. Unpack that grief. Stoke t
 hat gratitude.\n\nThis will be the first event of a monthly series I plan 
 to run the rest of the calendar year. Exact time will vary but roughly spe
 aking we're looking at a sunset paddle the 3rd Sunday of the month. I look
  forward to varying the venue (I have club members wanting to help run the
 se on the coast and the mountains)\, but our kickoff paddle will be from F
 earrington Point at Jordan lake\, a nice west-facing launch to enjoy the s
 unset.\n\nThe structure of this paddle is as follows: (1) dry land introdu
 ctions\, getting newbies helped if needed\, (2) circling boats up on water
  for a group "grief session" offering each paddler the option as we go aro
 und to say some words about a grief in their life\, ideally keeping each s
 hare to 2-3 minutes\, (3) initiating a silent paddle\, probably 30 minutes
  long\, then (4) regrouping for a "gratitude session" and going back aroun
 d for each paddler to have the opportunity to say some words about a grati
 tude in their life\, and lastly (5) we finish out in a social (not silent)
  paddle\, returning to the launch site.\n\nThe purpose of this is to build
  community and provide support.\n\nThere is no grief too small or too larg
 e to bring to this.\n\nYou can come and refrain from speaking if you prefe
 r. I know the grief of some is truly beyond words at times. But\, we want 
 you to feel this is a space you can show up as you are and be supported\, 
 even in silence.\n\nHope to see you there\,\n\nJason
