Yeah I did Spam you and your Momma for a few months. It seems to have worked. Thank you everyone who made the trip. You kindness is inspiring as is the Ministry distributing the food. I am so very thankful you guys made this happen.

The following 50 lies, truths, facts, alternative facts may or may not of happened on, about or during the MMRT 2017:

  1. We had 48 boaters plus Danny Byrd.
  2. The Reluctant Band Director was not able to make the trip due to a scheduling conflict. We missed him greatly!
  3. The cat head biscuits at Debbie's Restaurant in Stoneville were Outstanding. Surprise visit there by Lisa, Luke and Stager.
  4. Thanks Dale Briggs for your videos. Last count all three videos had a total of 1000 hits. Check me out baby!
  5. Thanks Delane Heath for your video and still shots. Good to finally meet you after all these years. Thanks for bringing Stephen along!

  6. A few folks with the initials James, Allen, Morgan, Dan and Larry were greatly missed………………………………………………………………………….Not!
  7. We picked up trash at the put in and take out. Thanks Bev for leading the charge. Thanks Nate for helping dispose of the trash.
  8. One of the 3 trash bags full of beer bottles exploded on my driveway in the dark while it was raining. Me. It happened to me. But why?
  9. JoAndra Proia was very gracious in accepting her role as Czarina. It took little to no trickery.
  10. Freaking Matt Daniels finally showed up to pay his dues. Matttttttttttt!
  11. We sure did miss Sammy Allred.
  12. Danny Bryd's deer jalapeno sausage was the bomb.
  13. My cornbread was once again the best cornbread served.
  14. Vince Davis brought Oreo's! Outstanding.
  15. Hey Lucas. You can be home in time for dinner next year. We just about miss you!
  16. My favorite editor of all time Amy Fox, your name came up.
  17. Mei Krause was missed greatly.
  18. We had a pretty good number of folks who missed the trip due to events related to the election. Join us if you can 2018.
  19. The big man himself, Jim Moser brought Isaac Jones all the way from Charlotte! Bravo!
  20. We had 2 grand canyon boaters. When speaking to the "Old Girl" you have to realize "Canyon Speak". " The Canyon"
  21. Luke Osborne is a natural born hug machine. Be sure to grab that big ol bear in a manly hug.
  22. Watch and see. We will be featured in a NC magazine or NC television next year.
  23. David Tinnes is the nicest most humble man you will ever meet. Thanks David for all you do each year. You rock.
  24. My honeymoon cruise will be next years theme. Poor Ms. Liz.
  25. Jon Godwin is a Beenie Weenie God.
  26. Rick Higgins may be our next spokesperson. Nice intro on the last video dude.
  27. The amount of trash at the Take Out is going to take a army to pick up. Doug Stager will be arming us with bags, gloves and a removal program next year. Thanks Doug,
  28. Thanks Ann Berry Somers, Noah Somers, Abe Somers, George Somers and Bo Berry Gibbs for the canned goods delivery to my house Saturday night. Dropped off at A New Dawn Realty in Stokesdale and they will do the final drop off. Super nice folks all around.

  30. Joey and Brooks we sure did miss you guys!
  31. From the deepest part of my heart, I apologize for spamming you folks for 3 months.
  32. All the new boaters did great. Make those connections boys and girls. Listen to the old folks. Ask questions before your buy! Share when you can.
  33. I really wish Megan Daniels would make the trip.
  34. Morgan Randall was sunning and funning in the Bahamas with his wife instead of making this trip. Sorry about that Morgan. You get a strike.
  35. REI has fun days for it;s employees. Stager got paid to paddle with us.
  36. Kurt was kind enough to not jujitsu anyone this time. Thanks for making the trip Captain!
  37. Shout out to the old SRVCC studs for all their assistance. You guys and gals rock.
  38. Dale Swanson is a magician on a Magic carpet ride SUPing the river. Impressive.
  39. John Hall please come back next year. Thanks for all your leadership this year and every year.
  40. Apple Pie is not just for dessert any more.
  41. It was really a disappointment that Sara's papa did not make the trip. Dude!
  42. We met at 10am. Put on at 11:45. Hit the boiling hole around 2:15. 
  43. Nice bump of rain Thursday before the trip. Thanks Sammy.
  44. We are thinking about a registration fee for next year. Please see Bret Harrison with any questions.
  45. I think James Crane and John Hall blew the folks at Good Samaritan Ministries away with all the food collected. Serving the Stokesdale and surrounding community with a food and clothing pantry. Great work folks.
  46. We were almost glad to see Eliot Mintzer.
  47. It took 6 days after the trip to figure out who and how many boaters we had on the river.
  48. I am still not sure of the water level. 2.1 or 2.2?
  49. Thanks from the bottom of my black heart to everyone who made this trip so much fun. Start your own tradition. Lead a trip. Teach a new boater. Teach a old boater.
  50. Assuming we win the $50 trip incentive, Dale Briggs will designate the charity or group donated to. Freak a bunch of money for leading a trip. Looks like we have chosen Team River Runners of the Triad. Confident not cocky!
