Nolichucky is probably the 1st choice, not sure if Upper Green or FB9 is in 2nd place. It’s too early to make the call. Noli is 1090 cfs (a good level) and falling. FB9 is 1740 cfs and rising modestly. There is a 1 turbine release on the Green on Saturday. Pigeon has the normal 2 turbine release scheduled. Modest rainfall is predicted between now and Friday evening.
Noli might or might not hold – mostly depends on getting at least a little of the rain.
FB9 will hold thru Sat – not as challenging or scenic as the Noli, but still a good run.
Upper Green – gorgeous scenery, predictable release but a tough hike out at the end of the day.
Pigeon – typical 2 turbine release, not much flat water some good play spots, but it get crowded on Saturdays and parking at the put in is very tight unless you get there early.
I guess that I can throw Chattooga 3.5 in the mix – it’s a bit longer of a drive for me and probably for most others.
This will partially be a group decision. I will let responses have a large amount of weight in where we choose to go (but we are not doing the Noli at under 700 cfs).
