GetOutdoors Open Practice
Join us one Saturday each month at Mary Perry Ragsdale YMCA, Greensboro in November, January, February, and March, for open pool rolling/ rescue practice. The cost is $10. You must bring all your own gear, nothing will be provided by GetOutdoors, other than access to the pool. PFDs and Helmets are required to be worn while on the water, no exceptions.
This season registration required, as limited space is available. In order for the YMCA to continue to allow us access for this practice session, we had to agree to limit the number of boats in the pool to 15.
CLEAN BOATS ARE REQUIRED. Boats will be checked for cleanliness at the door by GetOutdoors staff. Boats and float bags must be clean and free of debris to enter the pool.
Please note – this session does not include instruction though GetOutdoors. Instructors/ staff will be onsite for assistance and safety. Due to insurance regulations, no outside instruction is allowed. This event is for practice only.

All participants in any Carolina Canoe Club (CCC) trip do so as common adventurers. The CCC or its individual members may coordinate paddling trips but no one is considered leader of a trip. As common adventurers, all participants take the responsibility for making their own decisions including, but not limited to, whether it is safe for them to participate on any particular water body, what equipment they need and use, the routes they may choose to paddle, whether their skill levels and abilities are adequate for the activity or whether climate and water conditions are appropriate for their participation. Participants are exclusively responsible for their own safety.
Individual coordinators for all CCC activities set requirements per their sole discretion. The CCC does not necessarily endorse or approve requirements set by coordinators.
