Join me on the Ocoee for what was previously known as “Secret Week”, now affectionately know as “Week of Ocoee”. The Ocoee runs all week, and during the week there’s effectively no raft traffic.

We’ll be camping at Thunder Rock, and making daily trips on the Ocoee. Multiple laps will happen. There could be an ELF run. There could be side trips to the Upper Nanty or Tellico. Come for one day. Come for all of them!

According to the 15-year proposal for release dates , this will likely be the last Drawdown. Don’t miss your chance!

Ocoee first-timers with appropriate experience are welcome (limited by numbers on any particular day).

I have a site reserved at Thunder Rock from Sept. 3 to Oct. 1, and you’re welcome to share with me. Note that Thunder Rock now uses a reservation system incurring an additional $10 fee. During peak season the reservation system makes the campground a lot more crowded, in turn necessitating using the registration system. For Drawdown week it’s typically quiet during the week, but the weekend can be a bit busier.

All participants in any Carolina Canoe Club (CCC) trip do so as common adventurers. The CCC or its individual members may coordinate paddling trips but no one is considered leader of a trip. As common adventurers, all participants take the responsibility for making their own decisions including, but not limited to, whether it is safe for them to participate on any particular water body, what equipment they need and use, the routes they may choose to paddle, whether their skill levels and abilities are adequate for the activity or whether climate and water conditions are appropriate for their participation. Participants are exclusively responsible for their own safety.

Individual coordinators for all CCC activities set requirements per their sole discretion. The CCC does not necessarily endorse or approve requirements set by coordinators.
