Ellerbe Creek estuary

Ellerbe is the most polluted inflow to Falls Lake which is the source of Raleigh’s drinking water. Trash flows downstream and coagulates at the estuary where it is trapped by the railway trestle and embankments before flowing in to the lake during high water.

Goves, grabbers and bags provided. Land based or water based (bring your own boat and PFD). Wear long pants and closed toed shoes.

Paddle down from Redmill Road (20 minute paddle) or walk in from junction of Redwood/Clark (follow arrows)
